Employee’s responsibilities to keeping themselves safe All employees must: • Attend all in-services and training seminars on H&S and infection control, eg: lifting, MRSA etc. • To attend at least 6 H&S related in-services each year • Observe, and practice all safe work procedures. • To be aware of fire safety and emergency procedures in their place of work. • Report all incidents that occur while at work that cause harm or injury to ones self or another. • Know where they can receive information on practicing safely. • Choose an H&S representative. • Read, understand and sign all Holistic Healthcare H&S policies. Managements responsibilities to workplace safety It is the management’s responsibility to make sure: • Educate employees on safe working procedures, and advise them where they can receive information • Encourage incident/accident reporting • Identifying hazards that may put at risk themselves or there employees • Introduce controls for hazardous situations • Investigate and review all reported incidents, injuries and near misses • Understand there role as the fire warden • Inform contractors of all hazards and guide them through an appropriate induction programme • Notify OSH if a “serious harm” occurs Management must review all policies and procedures every two years.
